Equality Toledo Community Pantry Training
Join us for our 2 hour pantry training on October 8, 2023 from 12-2pm. The training will be at our Community Pantry at 440 Floyd St Unit C. Lunch will be provided, along with all the materials you will need as a volunteer.

What is the Equality Toledo Community Pantry?
Our pantry is one of the only barrier free pantries in the Toledo area, and we serve hundreds of community members monthly. Our pantry is open Wednesday evenings 5:30-7:30pm and Saturdays 1-4pm.

What is the time commitment for a Pantry Volunteer?
Equality Toledo Pantry Volunteers set their own schedules, but we do expect Volunteers to sign up for shifts regularly. Expect to volunteer for at least one shift a month as a Pantry Volunteer, but Volunteers are welcome to sign up for more shifts. Our Volunteers will be provided with snacks during their shifts and their own t-shirt and name tag!

Do I have to attend the Pantry Training?
Pantry Volunteers must attend this training prior to signing up for shifts. There is a lot going on at our Pantry, and we want Volunteers to be set up for success! Only 15 slots are available for this training, so sign up now if you're interested! If you're interested in being a General Volunteer or focusing on different programs that Equality Toledo offers, please visit our website to learn more about those opportunities.

Okay, so what will we do at the training?
At this training, volunteers will get an overview of our volunteer policies, meet our staff, learn about our pantry, and even practice serving community members at our pantry window. We will have physical copies of your Volunteer Handbook and Pantry Manual for you to sign. Pantry Volunteers will get a tour of our office, receive their shirts and name tags, and have the opportunity to sign up for their first shifts, as well.

Do I need to bring anything for the training?
Nope! We will provide you with everything you'll need. Equality Toledo does expect Volunteers to have their own transportation to and from events. Masks are not required, but encouraged if desired. Please note that you will be signing Volunteer Agreements and our Code of Ethics during this training.
